Greetings! I am Daphne Mayes, the Outreach Director at PAROC.

I love this job because it brings together many of my interests, experiences, and passions- including environmental conservation, biology, ecology, education, outreach, and community engagement for all! I am excited to be part of the pioneering phase of PAROC, growing our outreach programming and meeting many incredibly inspiring people along the way. In addition to my role at PAROC, I recently became co-editor of the Kansas School Naturalist. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and teaching my boys about nature.

Trevor Jones

Hello! I'm currently a graduate student at Emporia working towards my Masters of Biology.

Working at PAROC will provide me the opportunity to work in a building that brings so many of my interests and passions together. It is a place where I can participate in community outreach, biology and research while getting hands-on experience teaching the public about all the unique things they may encounter in aquatic habitats and the importance of the work biologists do.

In my free time, If I'm not studying for classes or helping with research, I enjoy woodworking and participating in many outdoor activities such as fishing, foraging for mushrooms, and hiking.

Alexandra Gentry

Hello! I am currently a senior at Emporia State getting my BSE in Biology and Earth Science Education.

Working at PAROC has given me so many opportunities to teach, plan, and follow my passion for learning biology and secondary education. I'm so excited to help PAROC grow and to help people learn about science.

Between every novel I can get my hands on and studying for exams, most of my time is filled. Except for laughing at my brilliant, goofy dog.

Grace Higgins

Hello! I am a freshman studying Biology Education at Emporia State.

I love working at PAROC because I get to share my love for science with the community in fun and creative ways.

I enjoy growing my teaching and planning skills through our activities at PAROC too. In my free time, I enjoy crafting, hiking with my dogs, and playing the flute.
