Our science camp programs engage students with a variety of topics and hands-on learning activities. Each day is a new adventure filled with endless opportunities for discovery!

4-Day Science Summer Camps
The Prophet Aquatic Research & Outreach Center is excited to provide a unique summer camp experience for young learners. Join us for a fun-filled week of hands-on learning experiences focusing on the natural world. Science topics are introduced in an active learning environment, with lessons that will include nature mysteries and investigations, water quality experiments, and many opportunities to learn about our native plants and animals up close. We will also incorporate cross-curricular lessons, including creative writing, art and math. Campers will spend quality time outside, having a great time observing nature using tools like binoculars, magnifying lenses and microscopes.
General Information:
Campers must bring their own lunch and water bottle each day.

Snacks will be provided. Fees include a T-shirt.

Aquatic Adventure: Mini Camp
Monday, June 15th - Wednesday, June 17th

Campers will:

Step into the water—use seining nets to collect fish and aquatic invertebrates right from King Lake.

Identify species—learn how to recognize fish and macroinvertebrates using field guides and microscopes.

Try real scientific methods—use professional sampling equipment, including different nets and lab tools.

Meet the experts—learn from ESU professors and aquatic ecology professionals about careers in the field.

Explore water ecosystems—understand the role of aquatic life in healthy environments and how scientists study and protect them.
